Posted on March 2, 2010 by Ewdison Then

SlashGear.com, a Technorati Top 100 site and part of the R3 Media network, announces today that they have selected the VPS.net content delivery network (CDN) to power SlashGear. VPS.net, part of the UK2 Group, provides static file acceleration and compression, together with the flexibility and scalability to distribute video around the world.

SlashGear.TV, their fast-growing digital media arm, currently serves up to 12TB per month in bandwidth of streaming video, covering product reviews and high-profile launch events in the technology industry. Since implementation of VPS.net’s CDN service, SlashGear.TV video has demonstrated reduced loading times, lower latency and improved bandwidth use.

“Thanks to VPS.net’s bandwidth monitoring tools, we have a greater insight into video consumption among our viewers,” said Ewdison Then, Executive Editor of SlashGear. “These analytics are invaluable in helping us understand what viewers are primarily interested in, so that we can tailor our content in future.”
